Born and raised in London, Alex John Beck is a Dutch-American photographer whose work stands at the intersection of reality and fiction, leading to refined images rich with honesty and character. Having trained with masters of contemporary fashion portraiture including Mario Testino and Craig McDean, he demonstrates a casual intimacy with his subjects and has been acclaimed for the iconic form and psychological depth of his deceptively minimalist portraits.
Raised in a rich, multicultural environment, Alex travels extensively on and off-assignment, and credits this peripatetic eye for his unique and truthful approach to subjects. His work captures the heart of the matter with an instinctual command of lighting and a deep respect for his craft.
Alex currently resides in Brooklyn. When home, he loves to run over the bridges of New York City, no matter the weather.
Clients include Polo Ralph Lauren, Loeffler Randall, Uniqlo, Elle, Glamour, Vogue Russia, Interview, Office Magazine, Out of Order Magazine and Du Jour Magazine.
